Job summary

The Bay Club Company is hiring a Family Programming Associate to care for children aged six months to twelve years in a safe and engaging environment. You will supervise all play areas, lead age‑appropriate activities, and maintain open communication with parents to ensure a positive experience.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and willing to acquire new skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Computer literate.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Care for children ages six months through twelve years.
  • Provide a safe, clean environment including sanitizing toys and play areas, checking and changing diapers, picking up toys, and wiping down tables and counters.
  • Ensure the entire childcare space is supervised and that every zone with a child is staffed.
  • Complete all items on the opening and closing operations checklists.
  • Greet parents and children with a smile; invite children to join activities.
  • Ensure interaction with children at all times; engage older, shy, or bored children and comfort crying children.
  • Organize and implement age‑appropriate activities such as craft time and story time.
  • Treat children with respectful guidance and address behavior tactfully.
  • Be present on the floor and offer assistance as necessary.
  • Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate.
  • Participate actively in events, programs, meetings, and training.
  • Represent the club professionally through image, dress, communication, and prompt follow‑through.

General Summary

Under the direction of the Family Programming Director, the Family Programming Associate is responsible for caring for children ages six months through twelve years, ensuring a safe, clean, and fun environment, and executing the department’s established guidelines and standards.

Primary Job Functions
  • Care for children ages six months through twelve years
  • Provide a safe, clean environment including sanitizing toys and play areas, checking and changing diapers, picking up toys, and wiping down tables and counters
  • Ensure the entire childcare space is supervised and that every zone with a child is staffed
  • Complete all items on the opening and closing operations checklists
  • Greet parents and children with a smile; invite children to join activities
  • Ensure interaction with children at all times; focus on engaging older, shy, or bored children and comforting crying children
  • Organize and implement age‑appropriate activities such as craft time and story time
  • Treat children with responsive respectfulness—coach rather than scold, and address behavior tactfully out of the child’s hearing range
  • Be present on the floor and offer assistance as necessary
  • Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate
  • Participate actively in events, programs, meetings, and training
  • Represent the club professionally through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow‑through and response

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in the work environment
  • Position requires daily public contact
  • May need to deal with unpleasant or angry people and problem‑solve difficult situations
  • Must adapt to a frequently changing environment
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility
  • Occasionally talk and hear
  • Frequently move 10 pounds and, in the event of an emergency, lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Estimated Base Pay Range: $20.00 / hour
