Job summary

Ivy Kids in Katy, TX is hiring a Bus Driver to ensure safe transportation of children to and from our childcare center. You will maintain a calm, nurturing environment during transit and uphold high safety standards.

The role requires strong driving skills, clear communication, and dedication to children's safety. You will follow designated routes, perform daily bus checks, and participate in ongoing training to stay compliant with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
• Must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during transportation, including proper use of safety restraints, monitoring behavior, and maintaining a calm and secure atmosphere.
• Develop and follow designated routes for transporting children to and from the childcare center.
• Perform daily checks on the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition, reporting any issues or concerns to the Center Director.
• Be prepared to handle emergencies or accidents during transit, including knowledge of emergency procedures, first aid, and evacuation protocols.
• Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude when interacting with children and staff.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to bus safety, child passenger safety, and other relevant topics to enhance job performance and ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
