We are seeking a construction foreman capable of managing projects while working with crews and small renovation teams. Candidates should have a construction background and familiarity with electrical work, structural steelwork, and reading blueprints.

Job Purpose
KHI Construction Foremen are essential to our success, representing the company on-site while ensuring that workers, subcontractors, material deliveries, and activities stay on schedule. They lead small teams on projects ranging from equipment installation (surgical booms, lights, computers) to complete operating room demos and renovations. Foremen must plan, communicate, execute, and debrief effectively to ensure consistency. They also serve as the face of KHIM to clients, managing administrative tasks and communications to build trust and foster repeat business.

Key Attributes of a KHI Construction Foreman
Must be construction experts capable of leading medical equipment technicians, network specialists, and subcontractors. They should facilitate team success, uphold high standards of quality, and promote teamwork and accountability. Specific qualities include:

  • Experience and knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Understanding building codes related to electrical, fire suppression, medical gas, etc.
  • Pre-project preparation and planning for efficiency.
  • Effective communication of plans to team members and clients.
  • Managing changes according to company priorities (client, efficiency, safety).
  • Providing regular updates to clients via various communication channels.
  • Debriefing with crews, management, and clients to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years in a leadership role.
  • Willingness to travel out of town 80% or more of the time.
  • Ability to work alongside teams installing equipment.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems.
  • Skill in reading plans, deciphering instructions, and following scope of work.
  • Ability to assess scope changes and request change orders.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed (nationwide).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and in crouched or kneeling positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
