Job summary

KeyBank seeks a Trust Analyst to support trust administration for institutional clients and their beneficiaries. You will collaborate with the Institutional Advisors team to manage fiduciary risk and deepen profitable relationships, while ensuring service excellence from our Brooklyn, OH location.

Responsibilities include reviewing trust agreements, maintaining client data in accounting systems, forecasting cash needs, and identifying opportunities to enhance client relationships and revenue

Job Summary

The Trust Analyst provides trust administration support and fulfills fiduciary responsibilities by providing basic trust administration for Key's Institutional clients and their beneficiaries. While serving on the Institutional Advisors team, collaborates effectively and provides insights and solutions to attract, retain and grow clients. Actively manages institutional accounts, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to a high professional standard while managing fiduciary risk. Retains and deepens profitable client relationships within assigned revenue base. Where appropriate, may focus on an area of specialty trust expertise. Successfully identifies opportunities to enhance client relationships while using proper channel management.

Essential Job Functions
Trust Administration & Support
  • Administers assigned accounts with a proactive and disciplined approach
  • Reads and understands Trust Agreements and related documents for administrative purposes.
  • Reviews and maintains client information on trust accounting system and all applicable vendor system(s)
  • Applies sound fiduciary judgment to trust matters
  • Fulfills Key’s fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring retention of business and reputation

  • Discovers, analyzes and researches client transactions and recommend solutions as needed
Client Management
  • Anticipates and advises clients on evolving financial goals and objectives
  • Executes, through Salesforce or other Comprehensive Practice Management process, prioritized pro-active client contacts, per service standards
  • Identifies client needs and revenue enhancement opportunities
  • Follows-up on client issues and relays information to clients through correspondence, telephone communications and conferences.
  • May serve as primary contact for some account relationships
Sales
  • Identifies and prioritizes trust and other opportunities to deepen relationships and enhance revenue
  • Presents ideas and solutions to clients and prospects, in collaboration with team members
  • Participates in professional associations to demonstrate professional credibility and expand COI relationships
Team Collaboration
  • Provides backup and support to other members of the team
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other team members to ensure high quality and timely administration of assigned fiduciary accounts
  • Serves as a resource for the team on projects needed
Compliance
  • Performs annual review of all assigned accounts
  • Maintains compliance with all internal policies and procedures, as well as, with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Mitigates risk on individual book of business
  • Assumes accountability for all delegated work on assigned accounts
  • Keeps current on the latest developments in trust law, tax law, and other issues related to the trust business
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working within the financial industry or other client service roles. (required)
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, accounting or finance preferred
  • General knowledge and understanding of fiduciary, financial and/or investment products and services
  • Self-motivated, goal and results driven
  • Demonstrated ability to be accountable for a process and/or delivery from end to end

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $52,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
