Job summary

Walker Lovell is seeking an Account Manager to own key Japanese OEM customer accounts in the automotive space. You will interact with customers and internal teams across engineering, manufacturing, logistics and quality to ensure smooth delivery and issue resolution.

You will coordinate multi-functional efforts to drive on-time delivery, resolve issues, and grow long-term partnerships. Candidates should have proven Japanese OEM account experience within automotive manufacturing and strong

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of assigned Japanese OEM customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships across purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing teams.
  • Manage all aspects of the customer relationship including quality, service, logistics, supply, and technical support.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure on-time product delivery by working with operations and supply chain.
  • Lead customer escalations through to resolution.
  • Develop account plans to support sales growth and profitability.
  • Maintain customer portals and support product approvals and launches.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate across the business to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

The Opportunity

You'll take full ownership of key Japanese OEM customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact across every aspect of the customer relationship.

Working closely with customers and internal engineering, manufacturing, logistics and technical teams, you'll ensure products are delivered on time, customer issues are resolved efficiently and long-term partnerships continue to grow.

This is a highly visible position requiring someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships whilst coordinating multiple internal functions to deliver exceptional service and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of assigned Japanese OEM customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing teams.
  • Manage all aspects of the customer relationship, including quality issues, customer service, logistics, supply and technical support.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams to resolve customer issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure products are delivered on time by working collaboratively with operations and supply chain teams.
  • Lead customer escalations through to successful resolution.
  • Develop and implement account plans that support sales growth and profitability.
  • Maintain customer portals and support product approvals, launches and ongoing programs.
  • Identify opportunities to grow business within existing customer accounts.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll already have experience managing Japanese OEM customer accounts within the automotive industry.

You'll also bring:

  • Proven experience managing Japanese OEM accounts within a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • Strong understanding of OEM customer requirements and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing customer relationships across quality, engineering, logistics and supply chain functions.
  • The ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting account growth.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, organized approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
