Job summary

Perdue Office Interiors, a Suddath company, seeks a seasoned Key Account Manager to lead major customer accounts, including Steelcase global accounts. You will coordinate between customer stakeholders, Steelcase teams, and Perdue’s design, project management, procurement, installation, and customer experience groups.

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial interiors, workplace solutions, contract furniture, facilities management, project management, architecture, design, construction, or related industry.
  • Experience with Steelcase, Steelcase global accounts, Steelcase dealer environments, and/or contract furniture is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise customers, major accounts, and multi-location account portfolios is highly desirable.

  • Project Execution: Manage design, project management, procurement, installation, and customer experience for enterprise accounts.

General position summary

Perdue Office Interiors, a Suddath company, is seeking an accomplished Key Account Manager to lead major customer accounts, including Steelcase global accounts. This is a highly visible role focused on managing key relationships, driving project execution, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from initial request through final project closeout. The Key Account Manager will serve as the primary point of coordination between customer stakeholders, Steelcase global account teams, and Perdue’s internal design, project management, procurement, installation, and customer experience teams. The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex account activity in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Account Management & Customer Experience Lead major account relationships with customer stakeholders across facilities, workplace, procurement, real estate, and operations teams. Build trusted relationships through responsiveness, accountability, and consistent follow-through. Maintain a thorough understanding of customer standards, Steelcase global account requirements, processes, locations, and priorities. Act as the customer advocate within Perdue and coordinate resources to ensure successful outcomes.

Project Execution Manage the execution of projects ranging from small service requests to major workplace initiatives for large enterprise accounts. Coordinate design, project management, procurement, installation, and customer experience teams. Monitor schedules, budgets, specifications, lead times, and installation milestones. Proactively identify and resolve risks before they impact the customer. Lead project closeout activities, including punch list resolution, final customer communication, documentation, warranty coordination, and post-installation follow‑up. Ensure consistent execution across regional offices and branch locations.

Daily Service & Operational Support Coordinate repairs, warranty claims, assessments, reconfigurations, exchanges, and furniture moves. Manage day-to-day work orders with urgency and attention to detail. Track open requests and communicate status updates proactively. Ensure service issues are resolved accurately and efficiently.

Reporting & Communication Lead customer meetings, project reviews, and status updates. Prepare account reports, project summaries, and performance reviews. Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Education & Experience

  • Ability to prepare accurate account reports, project summaries, customer communications, and documentation related to work orders, installations, warranties, punch lists, and closeout activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and maintain strong customer relationships through responsiveness, accountability, and follow‑through.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate and review basic project-related figures, including quantities, pricing adjustments, budgets, percentages, lead times, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to interpret and compare project specifications, order information, service requests, and financial details to support accurate account reporting and project execution.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to analyze customer needs, account priorities, project requirements, schedules, budgets, risks, and operational constraints to determine appropriate actions and solutions.
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram, schedule, specification, and documentation-based information to resolve issues, coordinate resources, and ensure successful project outcomes.
Computer Operations

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to effectively use CRM, order management, project tracking, reporting, communication, and documentation platforms to support account management, customer service, project coordination, and status reporting.

Planning/Organization

Ability to manage multiple major account activities, customer requests, project timelines, work orders, service needs, and internal coordination efforts simultaneously. Ability to prioritize customer needs, monitor schedules and milestones, track open requests, meet deadlines, and organize work to ensure timely follow‑through from initial request through project closeout.
