About the role

The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening strategic commercial relationships with key customers across assigned channels, including supermarkets, discount accounts, wholesalers, independent pharmacies, convenience customers, and other relevant distributor-serviced accounts. The role ensures sustainable business growth, strong commercial execution, efficient product distribution, disciplined inventory follow-up, and achievement of sales, service, and profitability objectives. This position serves as the primary link between customers, the local distributor, and Haleon’s internal teams, ensuring clear communication, data-led decisions, and execution aligned to business priorities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Gain a thorough understanding of key customer needs, shopper behavior, operational challenges, and commercial priorities to ensure Haleon brands are available, visible, and relevant where consumers make purchasing decisions.
  • Serve as the key communication link between customers, the distributor sales force, suppliers, logistics, finance, trade marketing, marketing, and other internal teams, ensuring transparent communication, constructive collaboration, and coordinated execution across all parties.

  • Build trust-based relationships with a portfolio of major customers, expand existing relationships through value-added solutions, and strengthen customer loyalty while reducing competitive risk.
  • Drive the timely distribution of innovations and priority products, ensuring proactive follow-up on listings, activation, product availability, secondary displays, planograms, pricing, promotions and brand visibility.
  • Identify the corresponding KPIs to track performance against business goals, analyze trends and business levers, maintain sell‑in and sell‑out coherence, and use account opportunity data to support informed, transparent, and aligned decisions.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels in distributors, follow up on orders, deliveries, service levels and customer claims, and partner with relevant teams to minimize write‑offs, avoid sales disruptions, and resolve risks with shared urgency.
  • Role model Haleon’s Win as One behaviour by sharing customer and market insights, enabling better cross‑functional decision‑making, supporting distributor capability and contributing to stronger ways of working across the commercial organisation.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in key account management, sales, commercial execution, distribution, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, retail, or similar commercial channels.
  • Experience working with distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, pharmacies, independent customers, or commercial chains.
  • Knowledge of category management, commercial execution, forecasting, sales analysis, performance indicators, and customer management.
  • Experience in forecasting, with a track record of supporting accuracy improvement and business planning discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to prepare communications, reports and executive presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced business‑related degree preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, ERP systems, sell‑out reports, commercial information platforms or distributor/customer performance dashboards.
  • Strong negotiation, influence and ability to manage complex commercial conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
