Job summary

RXO in Chicago is seeking a results-driven Key Account Manager to serve as the daily contact and relationship manager for our top clients in North America.

You will expand accounts, negotiate terms with carriers, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and reliable service, while maintaining a core book of business. A bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience are required; 5 years in transportation sales is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 1 year of professional experience.
• 5 years of experience in a transportation sales environment (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the daily point of contact and relationship manager for RXO's top clients.
• Expand current customer accounts through ongoing relationship development.
• Collaborate with team members to secure terms of sale, including negotiating rates.
• Procuring specialized equipment and identifying carriers when needed.
• Maintain a core book of business and ensure accurate billing and reporting.

Compensation for this role is 50,000-55,000. The role may also be eligible for bonus or commission pay. Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set.

As a Key Account Manager at RXO, you'll serve as the daily point of contact and relationship manager for our most important clients.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Serve as an advocate and liaison for RXO's top clients to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Expand current customer accounts through ongoing relationship development
• Collaborate with team members to secure the terms of sale, including negotiating rates, identifying carriers, procuring specialized equipment, etc.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the industry and client needs; cultivate a core book of business for consistent and repeatable sales
• Ensure the integrity of the shipment and the RXO brand by following standard processes and procedures
• Update internal tracking and reporting systems throughout the day to maintain accuracy in sales and volume metrics
• Monitor and ensure accurate billing; strive to ensure mutually beneficial business operations

At a minimum, you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 1 year of professional experience

It'd be great if you also have:

• 5 years of experience in a transportation sales environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
