Job description

About ZURU

ZURU is on a mission to disrupt industries, challenge the status quo, and catalyze change through radical innovation and advances in automation. This is in play in different pillars of the company: ZURU Toys are re-imagining what it means to play; ZURU Tech is shaping a better future by leading the next building revolution; and ZURU Edge is pioneering new-generation FMCG brands to better serve modern consumers.

Founded in 2003 by EY Entrepreneur of the Year and World Entrepreneur Hall of Fame brothers Nick and Mat Mowbray, ZURU has quickly grown to a team of over 5,000 direct and indirect members across more than 30 international locations.

One of the largest toy companies in the world, our globally recognized and award-winning brands include Bunch O Balloons, Mini Brands, XSHOT, Rainbocorns, and Smashers. Our global FMCG brands include MONDAY Haircare, Rascals, NOOD, BONKERS, and Gumi Yum Surprise.

Position Overview
  • ZURU is looking for a commercially minded Key Account Manager to help shift the needle on one of the fastest-growing businesses in US retail.
  • This is your chance to help drive some of ZURU's fastest-growing, most exciting and disruptive consumer brands, including Millie Moon, Rascals, MONDAY Haircare, DAISE and Bonkers. As a ZURU team member, you'll own a significant portion of this fast-growing portfolio, partnering cross-functionally to develop category strategies, deliver profitable growth, and execute best-in-class customer plans with a relentless bias for action.
  • You'll thrive here if you love solving complex business problems, move fast in an ever-changing environment, and pair big-picture strategy with an obsession for the details, working out how to win before you enter the arena and chasing compounding improvement in everything you do. Above all, you're a good human who raises the bar for the team around you.
Position Impact
  • You'll own and grow a significant portion of ZURU's business with a major US retailer — delivering against sales, profit, market share, and distribution objectives. You'll translate commercial strategy into actionable customer plans, build trusted partnerships with buyers, and hunt relentlessly for insights that drive decisions.
  • At 6 months, you'll have a deep understanding of your account, a clear customer business plan in motion, and strong cross-functional relationships in place. At 12 months, you'll be driving compounding improvement across your portfolio — independently fixing complex challenges, protecting business performance, and contributing to ZURU's long-term ambition of becoming a leading supplier in US retail.
Who you are
  • A commercially sharp account manager with 4+ years in CPG or FMCG, experienced with large retail customers. You build financial models as comfortably as you build relationships. You overprepare to win, anticipate risks before they land, and bring an ownership mindset to everything you do. You don't wait to be told — you move.
Key Responsibilities
Business Ownership
  • Own a significant portion of the business including sales, profit, and market share performance.
  • Develop annual customer business plans and identify opportunities to accelerate growth.
  • Deliver financial targets across sales, margin, distribution, and inventory health.
  • Build compelling commercial recommendations grounded in data and customer insight.
Customer Leadership
  • Build trusted relationships with the retailer's buying, replenishment, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead customer meetings independently and communicate with confidence.
  • Influence customer decisions through clear, fact-based selling stories.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assortment, pricing, promotion, and omnichannel execution.
Strategic Planning
  • Analyze category trends, shopper behavior, and competitive activity.
  • Translate insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Evaluate promotional opportunities, modular changes, and new item launches.
  • Develop long‑term growth strategies for both existing and emerging brands.
Financial & Analytical Leadership
  • Own forecasting and demand planning inputs.
  • Build robust financial models to evaluate commercial opportunities.
  • Analyze P&L impacts of pricing, funding, promotions, and assortment decisions.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Category & Insights, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Demand Planning, and Product Development to ensure seamless execution across the business.
