Job summary

The Salvation Army in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Driver/Delivery associate to support the Christmas program. The role involves collecting gifts, transporting them to the warehouse, and assisting with loading and unloading duties.

This position requires a High School diploma or GED, at least two years of driving experience, a valid State Driver’s License, and the ability to operate commercial equipment. Hours are up to 29 per week, early November through December 24, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Transport kettle workers to kettle locations.
• Assist in warehouse duties as needed.

Schedule/Hours: Part-Time, up to 29 hours/week

This position is responsible for:

• Drives Salvation Army vehicle to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. Responsible for driving to and from homes, agencies, and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loads and unloads gifts from the vehicle to the warehouse.
• Operates the vehicle in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads, and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.
• Ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.
• Drives kettle workers to and from kettle locations.
• Assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse/center as requested.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to become and remain certified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read and communicate the English language.
• Ability to operate commercial equipment.
• Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given.
• Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 - 50 lbs.) and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs.) materials and donations.

Work is performed in a warehouse building with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust and/or disagreeable sights and orders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

• High School diploma or GED, AND
• Two years’ driving experience, OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid State Driver’s License required, with ability to meet Salvation Army driving requirements for insurance purposes and remain qualified to drive a Salvation Army vehicle throughout the course of employment in this position.
