Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Kettle Driver to operate an insured vehicle and transport bell ringers and equipment during the Red Kettle Campaign (November–December). You will drive safely, promote the mission, and serve as an ambassador in the field.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading kettles, coordinating with kettle coordinators, and reporting incidents promptly. A valid driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

  • Able to speak, write and understand English for effective communication with leadership and volunteers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard.
  • Experience driving 12-passenger vans preferred; minimum 2 years driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive insured Salvation Army vehicle to transport bell ringers and equipment during Red Kettle Campaign season.
  • Drop off and pick up bell ringers in a pre-determined order and secure kettles and stands.
  • Document time for bell ringers and ensure accuracy of related forms.
  • Deliver kettles and equipment to bell ringers at designated sites; assist paid workers and volunteers.
  • Monitor safety and activity of bell ringers; report concerns to supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure kettles, bells, and aprons are secured and returned; report broken equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interiors and report maintenance issues.
