Job summary
Opelika Animal Hospital is seeking a kennel technician to join our team of veterinarians and caring staff. The role is full-time with a 40-hour work week and a rotating schedule between hours of 7:15 am - 6:15 pm, including alternating weekends.

- Previous experience caring for animals.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and agile.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
- A passion for animal welfare.
- Available to work evenings, on weekends, and public holidays.
- Previous experience as a kennel tech preferred.
Responsibilities
- Transporting pets to and from kennels.
- Ensuring that the animals always have ample fresh food and water.
- Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair and other debris from kennels.
- Accompany animals on walks, if required.
- Calming animals that are in distress.
- Bathing dogs and cats.
- Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty.
- Evacuating all animals in case of an emergency.

How Our Kennel Technicians Spend Your Day:
- Transporting pets to and from kennels.
- Ensuring that the animals always have ample fresh food and water
