Kennel Attendant
Hahira Veterinary Clinic (Hahira, GA)

Position:
The Kennel Attendant position is a key role in our kennel, responsible for daily care of boarded animals and assisting with kennel maintenance. The role involves cleaning, bathing, grooming, exercising, and feeding animals. The Attendant also cleans cages, administers medication, and monitors animal behavior. This role interacts with the clinical team and clients, supporting our customer-focused environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide daily care for boarded animals.
  2. Perform bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior.
  3. Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning.
  4. Report changes in animal behavior, health, or concerns to veterinarians or the Practice Manager.
  5. Maintain accurate animal records, including weight, physical condition, treatments, medications, and food intake.
  6. Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
  7. Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, and stand or stoop for extended periods.
  8. Travel may be required.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of the hospital and kennel facilities.
  10. Schedule boarding appointments.
  11. Answer phone calls, including questions, appointment scheduling, and message recording for staff.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Doctor, Practice Manager, Kennel Lead, or Lead Technician.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Previous experience with animals preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
