Job summary

Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support the care and comfort of hospitalized animals. You will assist staff, maintain clean facilities, feed and monitor patients, and help with daily tasks to ensure a smooth ER/ambulatory workflow.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and willingness to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Willing to employ students still in High School.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize cages, runs, wards, and related areas.
• Walk patients and record urine and feces.
• Feed hospitalized patients and record food and water intake.
• Recognize and report any unusual condition or behavior to staff.
• Assist doctors and technicians with animal restraint.
• Laundry duties.
• Patrol hospital grounds daily and pick up trash.
• Complete work with or without supervision and meet deadlines.
• Interact professionally with staff, customers, and suppliers.
• Work well as a team and independently when needed.
