Medford Animal Hospital in Medford, Oregon is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

We’re looking for an engaging, detail‑oriented individual who can support smooth exam room workflows, maintain medical records, and assist veterinarians during procedures. This full‑time role offers a 4/10 schedule, Monday–Friday with rotating Saturdays and pay of $18–$21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role is required
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs is preferred
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room and outpatient workflow for exceptional patient and client care
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

Medford Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
• Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 18 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• Previous experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role is required
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
  • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service
