Job summary

Care Center, Dayton is seeking a Kennel Assistant to keep patient and hospital areas clean, organized, and safe. You will assist with feeding, walking, bathing, and aftercare, while stocking supplies and organizing inventory.

The role emphasizes compassionate client interaction and teamwork in a busy veterinary hospital. The position is full-time on 1st shift in Centerville, with a rotating weekend schedule and a $14-16/hr pay range plus a $3/hour differential for late hours, offering meaningful

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and the public.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Comfort using computers and standard office equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient and hospital areas.
• Clean and disinfect areas between patients and while restocking supplies.
• Support general patient care: feeding, walking, bathing, and aftercare.
• Stock and organize inventory and hospital supplies.
• Label and manage patient belongings and return items to owners.
• Complete end-of-shift duties: mopping, laundry, trash removal, workspace upkeep.
• Assist with additional hospital duties as needed.

In Your Day-To-Day, You Will

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient and hospital areas, including cages, kennels, litter boxes, exam rooms, and public spaces
• Clean and disinfect areas between patients and following infectious cases, while restocking supplies as needed
• Support general patient care, including feeding, walking, bathing, and aftercare, as directed by hospital staff
• Stock and organize inventory and hospital supplies
• Label and manage patient belongings to ensure personal items are returned to their owners
• Complete end-of-shift duties, including mopping, laundry, trash removal, and general workspace upkeep
• Assist with additional hospital duties as needed

What You Bring

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, team members, and the public
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Comfort using computers and standard office equipment

In June of 2019, we moved to a brand new, 15,000 square foot facility. Our new hospital, located next door to our previous location, is home to 24-hour Emergency Care, Cardiology, and Radiology, Surgery. Our hospital is also AAHA accredited.
