Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health's Care Center in Centerville, OH is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant for a full-time, 2nd shift position with rotating 12-hour shifts. You will provide compassionate nursing care, assist veterinarians and technicians, and support clients to ensure a positive visit in our busy emergency department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
• At least 2-years veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to execute treatment orders as directed by a DVM.
• Ability to safely restrain patients for various types of treatments and procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently, and remain calm during stressful situations.
• Ability to run diagnostic laboratory tests and procedures.
• Positive attitude and team oriented mindset.
• Dedicated to excellent client communication and client care.
• Advocate for exceptional patient care.
• Passion for growth and development, open to feedback.
• Adaptable to the demands of the day and to do any other tasks as assigned.

• Monitor patient comfort and well-being while advocating for the highest quality of care.
• Help maintain an organized, efficient Emergency department by supporting patient flow and collaborating with the veterinary team.
• Continue developing your clinical skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and ongoing learning opportunities.

Location: Centerville, OH
Schedule: Full Time | 2nd Shift | 3 Twelve Hour Shifts Per Week | 1pm-1:30am - Rotating Schedule; Week 1- Sun, Mon, Fri, Week 2- Mon, Tue, Sat | Includes 12 Hour On Call Shift Once Per Month and Some Holidays
Compensation: $17-23/hr | Shift Differential $3/hr from 7pm-7am on Mon-Fri & All Day Sat & Sun | On Call Pay $25/shift Guaranteed + 1.5X Hourly Rate for a Minimum of 3 Hours, If Called In

Our Dayton location was established in 2008, and through the years our team has proudly cared for thousands of pets in this AAHA accredited hospital. In June of 2019, we moved to a brand new, 15,000 square foot facility. Our new hospital, located next door to our previous location, is home to 24-hour Emergency Care, Cardiology, and Radiology, Surgery. Our hospital is also AAHA accredited.
