BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join their team. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and progression through competency levels.

The role involves basic patient care, animal handling, and maintaining hospital cleanliness and equipment. It may include assisting with safe restraint during treatments and observing pets for health concerns.

Qualifications

• Duties include observing patients for health concerns and reporting to senior staff.
• Clean and disinfect hospital areas to maintain high standards of care.
• Prepare patient meals, clean cages and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
• Safely restrain cooperative patients during treatments when needed.

• Maintain and clean hospital equipment and tools.
• Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior staff.
• Remove soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.
• Patrol facility to ensure cleanliness.

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join their team! Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

A Kennel Assistant attends to the basic needs of animals that are patients of the hospital and cleans the hospital facility, equipment, and tools. The role may include assistance with basic patient care such as the safe restraint of patients during treatment.

As a Kennel Assistant, You Will

• Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report any findings to senior staff.
• Clean and disinfect areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.
• Prepare patient meals, clean patient cages, and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
• Safely approach and restrain cooperative patients as needed during treatments.
• Provide routine attention to patients, including walking dogs.
• Effectively clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools.
• Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior Veterinary Assistant or Technician.
• Remove and wash soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.
• Patrol facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
