Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. This role attends to the basic needs of our animal patients and helps keep the hospital clean, safe, and well organized.

As a Kennel Assistant, you will observe patients, assist with restraint during treatments, prepare meals, clean cages, and maintain equipment. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced veterinary environment with opportunities to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients for health concerns and report findings to senior staff
• Clean and disinfect hospital areas to maintain high care standards
• Prepare patient meals, clean cages and bedding, maintain litter boxes
• Safely restrain cooperative patients during treatments as needed
• Provide routine patient care including walking dogs
• Clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools
• Record and report patient voids to senior staff
• Manage laundry and keep clean uniforms stocked
• Patrol facility to ensure cleanliness

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join their team!

A Kennel Assistant attends to the basic needs of animals that are patients of the hospital and cleans the hospital facility, equipment, and tools. The role may include assistance with basic patient care such as the safe restraint of patients during treatment.

As a Kennel Assistant, you will:

• Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report any findings to senior staff.
• Clean and disinfect areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.
• Prepare patient meals, clean patient cages, and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
• Safely approach and restrain cooperative patients as needed during treatments.
• Provide routine attention to patients, including walking dogs.
• Effectively clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools.
• Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior Veterinary Assistant or Technician.
• Remove and wash soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.
• Patrol facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
