Job summary

Partners In Development seeks an Education Outreach Assistant to support teaching teams at program sites in Kahului, HI. The role involves set-up, co-teaching, and preparing materials to ensure a high-quality learning environment for keiki and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and values preferred.
• Three months of experience working with young children birth through five in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching team with setup and breakdown of site and materials.
• Co-teach lessons and help implement lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Support monthly field trips and wrap-around caregiver support as needed.
• Engage with enrolled families in a professional manner to encourage caregivers as keiki’s first teachers.
• Participate in team meetings to implement culturally appropriate lesson plans for keiki birth-five.
• Assist in curriculum implementation that is developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant.
