Job summary

Partners in Development Foundation seeks an Education Outreach Assistant to support teaching teams across Kapaa sites in Hawai‘i. The role involves setting up and breaking down learning spaces, co-teaching lessons, and preparing materials to deliver culturally resonant programming for families and children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; strong communication and organizational skills.
• Some experience working with families and caregivers.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team with proper setup and breakdown of site, co-teach lessons, and prepare materials.
• Assist in the implementation of lesson plans, facilitate classroom instruction and learning experiences at program sites.
• Assist with monthly field trips.
• Model, teach, and engage with enrolled families to encourage caregivers to be their keiki’s first and foremost teacher.
• Participate in team meetings to implement high-quality, culturally appropriate lesson plans for keiki ages birth-five years old.
• Assist in wrap-around caregiver support, assistance with community resources and referrals, and support with caregiver/keiki assessments, when needed.
