Job summary

Partners In Development is seeking an Early Childhood Education professional for a Mountain View, HI-based role. The position supports teaching teams, co-teaches lessons, and prepares instructional materials for keiki birth through five years old.

Requirements include a Bachelor's, or an option with an Associate's degree or a CDA credential, plus one year of supervised experience with young children and families. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in ECE/related field with 6 months of experience with keiki birth to five and families.
• Associate's degree with 1 year of supervised experience with keiki birth to five and their families.
• CDA credential with 1 year of supervised experience working with keiki birth through five and their families.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team with proper setup and breakdown of site, co-teach lessons, and prepare materials.
• Implement lesson plans, facilitate classroom instruction and learning experiences at program sites.
• Coordinate and schedule monthly field trips, and ensure all required reports are completed and submitted by expected deadlines.
• Model, teach, and engage with enrolled families in a professional manner that encourages caregivers to be their keiki's first and foremost teacher.
• Facilitate team meetings to develop high-quality, culturally appropriate lesson plans for keiki ages birth-five years old.
• Collaborate with the Curriculum and Development Specialist to implement curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant for children and caregivers.
• Operate assigned company vehicles safely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Salary Range: $45,600.00 To $50,000.00 Annually

Primary Purpose

Other Duties

Other duties as assigned include, but are not limited to, completing all forms and documentation such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and data collection for the program.

Work Hours

• A 10-month work schedule that closely aligns with the Hawai'i Department of Education's paid leave calendar;
• Monday through Friday, hours vary by site and are determined by Lead Education Specialist;
• Consistent and reliable attendance;
• Some events and professional development may take place on evenings or weekends.

Working Conditions

• Office setting and program sites;
• Travel in personal and/or program vehicle to and from home visits and program sites;
• Travel to the neighbor islands and continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use

Program vehicle, office equipment (computer, printer, copier, scanner, bluetooth, laminator, shredder), site and facility equipment.

Physical:

• Capable of strenuous activities which include loading/unloading of program materials and equipment, washing of vans and mats, set up and break down of program learning centers;
• Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis;
• Able to sit and work on floor; kneel and bend;
• Indoors: Exposure to normal office environments, A/C, fans, etc.

Communication:

• Exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff, administration, and community partners via verbal, written, physical and electronic correspondence;
• Able to address participants individually or in groups through speaking, demonstrating activities, singing, dancing, and signing;
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Properly handle and maintain highly confidential information.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and six (6) months of experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families; OR
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and one (1) year of supervised experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families; OR
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and one (1) year of supervised experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families;
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe and responsible driving record.

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva publishing, and virtual meeting platforms;
• Able to troubleshoot computer and internet connectivity issues and assist caregivers when they experience issues;
• Familiarity with databases such as QuickBase;
• Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and values.
