Akkodis is seeking a KDB+/q Developer for a contract role in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). The candidate will contribute to a financial services project with strong KDB/q expertise and Linux environments.

Required: 4+ years hands-on KDB development, strong q internals, ETL experience, and Python scripting; familiarity with FICC is a plus. The role offers competitive hourly compensation and long-term engagement.

• Strong KDB/q skills with knowledge of tp, rdb, hdb, and tick data storage.
• Solid UNIX/Linux environment knowledge.
• Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, Unix shell).
• ETL design/development for data warehouses.
• Ability to learn and apply critical thinking in varied situations.
• Python experience preferred.
• FICC experience with large financial institutions preferred.

Job description

Akkodis is seeking a KDB+/q Developer for a Contract job with a client in Jersey City, NJ(Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Rate Range: $65-70/Hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Skills Required:

At least 4+ years of hands on KDB development experience

• Strong KDB/q skills with a thorough understanding of q internals such as tp, rdb, hdb, and tick data storage
• Solid knowledge of the UNIX / Linux environment
• Strong experience in one or more scripting languages (Perl, Python, Unix Shell Scripting)
• Experience in designing and developing ETL processes for the project's data warehouse
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply critical thinking to a variety of situations
• Experience in Python is preferred
• Experience in FICC business large Financial Institution is preferred
