Job summary

Tata Technologies is seeking a motivated KBE Entry Level Engineer for Advanced Body Development – Body / Closures in Auburn Hills, MI. This role targets graduates eager to apply knowledge in knowledge-based engineering, automation, and digital design within the automotive sector.

You will work with experienced engineers to develop KBE tools, automate design processes, and contribute to efficiency, standardization, and high-quality product delivery across BIW and closures projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles and design practices.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and logical-thinking skills.
• Interest in CAD automation and knowledge-based engineering.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new software and methodologies.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems such as NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with parametric modelling and design automation.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, VBA, C#, etc.).
• Exposure to PLM or product configuration systems.
• Understanding of automotive product development processes and validation.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of KBE applications and automation tools.
• Translate requirements into configurable engineering rules and logic.
• Develop and maintain parametric models and templates.
• Automate repetitive design, calculation, validation, and documentation tasks.
• Collaborate with design engineers to identify process improvements.
• Assist with testing, debugging, and validation of KBE apps.
• Maintain technical documentation and user guides.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering productivity.
