Job summary

CLOVEHITCH is seeking qualified interpreters fluent in Kaqchikel to support a client serving minors, providing impartial interpretation between minors and Care Staff in various care settings. Roles are primarily in person, with potential for remote support via phone or videoconference, and possible 24/7 availability.

Requirements include ILR 2+ in English and the target language, potential T2/Public Trust clearance, and a preference for experience in foster or medical care environments.

Qualifications

• Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and the target language (Kaqchikel).
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Experience in foster or medical care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation at client sites.
• Relay deadlines, instructions, and questions between staff and minors.
• Assist minors in communicating concerns when they are not fluent in English or staff language.
• Translate/interpret to orient minors to community resources.
• Assist staff with building rapport and understanding cultural context.
• Support special projects and initiatives.
