Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation in Hawaii is seeking a friendly Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service in a fast-paced setting. You’ll craft cocktails, engage guests, and help create memorable moments across our bars, lounges, and outlets.

You should have experience in hospitality, knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer, and be comfortable with POS systems and cash handling. Flexible availability, TIPS certification preferred; base pay range $35.14-$37.14 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, lounge, nightlife, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
• Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests, making recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage menus.
• Operate efficiently during high-volume restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event service periods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards across bar and service areas.
• Accurately process orders, payments, tabs, and transactions using POS systems.
• Assist with bar setup, inventory, garnishes, stock replenishment, and opening/closing duties.
• Follow food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel operational procedures.
• Partner closely with Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support upselling initiatives, promotions, and beverage programs that drive guest engagement and revenue.
• Any other duties as assigned.
