Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled engineer to help build and evolve the CX Platform, powering Cisco’s customer experience ecosystem.

You will work on the platform framework and the on-premises appliance platform, supporting two delivery models across data centers and cloud-like environments. You will design scalable event-driven architectures with Kafka, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers, while collaborating with PM, SRE, and deployment leads to ensure reliable,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree (e.g., Mathematics, Physics)
• 5 years of related professional engineering experience (with a Bachelor’s); 3 years (with a Master’s); 0 year (with a PhD).
• Experience programming in Go, Java, or C/C++
• Experience with debugging and unit testing
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining event-driven architectures
• Experience with Kafka for data pipelines
• Experience with SaaS enterprise software or cloud-based infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Work on the platform framework and the on-premises appliance platform running in customer data centers — a shared foundation supporting two delivery models.
• Design and build scalable, event-driven architectures and data pipelines with Kafka.
• Participate in design reviews, architecture debates, and postmortems with principal engineers and technical leads.
• Run research spikes on new technologies and mentor more junior engineers.
