Position Summary

Ogletree Deakin’s Knowledge & Innovation (K&I) department is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the K&I Premium Services team with a focus on supporting client programs. The primary responsibility of the K&I Business Analyst is to offer comprehensive program expertise tailored to each assigned client program, focused on client and shareholder satisfaction. This role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders to identify, define and document all business and functional requirements pertinent to new and existing client programs and projects.

The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring successful program and project outcomes, leveraging technology and automation to improve efficiencies for legal teams. Serving as a subject matter expert for all assigned K&I initiatives, the Business Analyst works in tandem with colleagues across the firm; and with internal and external stakeholders of varying authority levels, including external vendors, to achieve project objectives successfully.

Essential Functions
  • Program Efficiency and Enhancement
    • Analyze existing program workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement strategies to streamline program operations and optimize resource allocation.
    • Integrate automation tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency of program delivery and reduce manual tasks.
    • Conduct regular assessments and performance evaluations to measure the effectiveness of implemented enhancements and identify further optimization opportunities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements based on their impact on program efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Provide training and support to team members on new processes and tools implemented to enhance program efficiency.
    • Continuously monitor and adapt program processes in response to changing requirements and evolving best practices.
    • Establish and maintain documentation of program enhancements, processes, and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer within the team.
    • Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or challenges that may impede program efficiency.
  • Business Analysis and Program Services
    • Collaborate extensively with stakeholders to gather, define, document, and manage detailed requirements for client programs within the K&I Premium Services team, emphasizing process improvement and efficiency gains.
    • Take a proactive role in leading the development and management of critical program artifacts, including comprehensive documentation of program services, automation workflows, and integration requirements with existing or new technologies.
    • Research and evaluate potential technical integrations and automation solutions aligned with program objectives, actively contributing to the enhancement of program efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all assigned client programs, offering insights and guidance on leveraging technology and automation to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
  • Content and Data Management
    • Consult with shareholders, clients and firm resources to automate, update or add content and/or data tailored to client program needs, emphasizing efficiency and scalability.
    • Research and brainstorm solutions for content and data, review automation and process improvement
    • Analyze and reconcile disparate data sets, identifying inconsistencies and applying data cleaning techniques to prepare information for downstream use.
    • Implement robust data management practices to ensure accurate collection, storage, and utilization of program-related data, facilitating informed decision-making and enabling comprehensive reporting on program metrics, performance and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Specific Experience
    • Four-year college/university degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years working in professional services or in a program management role
    • Knowledge Management experience preferred, but not required
    • Experience with process mapping and workflows
  • Technical Experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Teams. Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
    • Experience with/knowledge of Smartsheet, iManage, and other systems commonly used in law firms strongly preferred
    • Exceptional computer/technical skills with a demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies quickly
    • Proficiency in technology and automation solutions is necessary for implementing technical integrations aligned with program objectives.

Wage Transparency

The pay range for this remote position varies by location. Pursuant to the applicable state and local regulations the pay range for each location is listed below. Actual compensation is contingent on relevant experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and the benefits described below.

Ogletree is a multi-state employer. The pay ranges listed reflect compensation for the specific location identified. For roles performed in locations not listed, compensation will be determined based on the applicable location for the position.
