Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer to patrol hospital entrances and critical areas, ensuring threats are neutralized and escalated per Public Safety procedures. The role includes assisting during EMS offloads and high-risk clinical scenarios, and maintaining comprehensive training records.

Qualified candidates will have strong communication skills, the ability to de-escalate, and the capacity to operate restraint and safety equipment, including Taser and CPR protocols.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in a security or public safety role, or 30 college credits in Criminal Justice and 3 years in security with 1 year in safety.
• Must pass background, drug screen, pre-placement physical and psychological screening; ongoing compliance as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct person-borne firearm-detection patrols at hospital entrances and key areas.
• Assist during EMS offloads and high-risk clinical scenarios.
• Support general Public Safety operations including alarms, escorts, and safety responses.
• Maintain training records for deployments and incidents.
