Job summary

Distinctive Schools seeks a K-8 STEAM Enrichment Teacher in Chicago, IL starting October 2026. The role reports to the Principal and offers a starting salary of $70,000 for certified teachers.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Illinois teaching license with a content-area endorsement, commit to culturally responsive instruction, and build strong relationships with students and families while delivering engaging, standards-aligned lessons across STEM and arts integration.

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Educator License or enrollment in a Teacher Certification program within 30 days of employment
• Content Area Endorsement
• Travel as required for training, professional development, and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Maintain a student-centered perspective in decision making
• Deliver instruction aligned to grade-level standards with frequent checks for understanding
• Use assessments to monitor progress and inform instruction
• Foster belonging through relationships with students, families and staff
• Maintain organized classroom routines and effective communication with families
