Job summary

ReGeneration Schools in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year (K-8). The teacher will implement IEPs, collaborate with staff, and support students with LD/ED to thrive in the core program.

You will set IEP goals, supervise paraprofessionals, design assessments, and help students graduate ready for the next academic level. A valid LBS1 and a Bachelor's degree are required; 1–5 years of teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of teaching experience required.
• Strong knowledge of special education and IEP implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
• Set goals for the IEPs that are achievable for students.
• Develop draft IEPs for initial or annual reviews.
• Provide support and direction to paraprofessionals.
• Design, implement, and use assessments to measure progress.
• Collaborate with school team to address instructional and social needs.
• Work with RTI team to suggest accommodations or interventions.
• Adhere to school policies and promote core values.
• Set and attain ambitious student achievement and SEL benchmarks.
• Model appropriate student behavior and positive classroom culture.
• Reflect on teaching practice and pursue improvement strategies.
• Participate in mandatory summer orientation and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
