Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Teacher responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes under the supervision of the school principal.

Responsibilities include instructional planning with written lesson plans, evaluating pupil progress, maintaining records, and applying modern teaching methods; you may participate in field trips, after-school activities, and parent conferences.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework to obtain Illinois teaching certificate(s).
• Knowledge of contemporary teaching methods and curriculum content.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet diverse student needs and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare written lesson plans and instructional preparation aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Participate in in-service meetings, staff meetings, and school programs.
• Coordinate field trips and may participate in after-school activities.
