Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher to instruct, assess, and support students in assigned classes, under the supervision of the principal. The role requires developing lesson plans, delivering engaging instruction, maintaining records, and communicating with parents about progress and behavior.

The successful candidate will hold a valid Illinois teaching certificate (PEL or ELS) and have completed student teaching.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework for teaching certificates.
• Licensed by the Illinois State Board of Education with PEL or ELS.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and classroom management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and maintain written records of pupil progress.
• Apply teaching methods and materials to meet instructional objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Coordinate field trips or after-school activities as needed.
• Support positive behavior and manage classroom environment.
