Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher to provide instruction, monitor progress, and manage classroom behavior across assigned classes. Under principal supervision, you will implement engaging lessons and maintain student records while upholding CPS discipline policies.

Responsibilities include planning instruction, applying current teaching methods, communicating with families, and participating in professional meetings.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain Illinois teaching certification.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of current instructional strategies and classroom management.
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse student needs and to collaborate with families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to objectives and the instructional program.
• Assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Implement diverse teaching methods and learning theories in the classroom.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and attendance.
• Participate in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings.
