Job summary

Conservatory Lab Charter School in MA is seeking an instructional support assistant to join a dynamic team of teachers and specialists. The role supports lead teachers, reinforces lessons, and helps manage the classroom while incorporating music-infused education.

You will help with student interventions, record keeping, family communication, and adaptations for individualized needs within EL Education and El Sistema-inspired programs.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college as required.
• Experience working with children is required.
• Ability to collaborate on a professional team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for students.
• Work as co-teacher/teaching assistant within the classroom.
• Implement the lead teacher's lesson plans.
• Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing materials one on one or in small groups.
• Enforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behavior.
• Assist lead teacher with record keeping.
• Lead small group and individual instruction with targeted interventions.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation.
• Support individual students in staying on task.
• Collaborate with grade-level special educators to implement supports and accommodations.
• Assist with communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings.
• Provide input to individual student success plans.
• Assist with universal screening of students.
• Utilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students in interventions.
• Supervise student groups as assigned by schedule.
• Support students in successfully transitioning between activities.
• Assist with classroom setup and cleanup.
• Assist with administrative duties including arrival/dismissal, lunch and recess.
