Qualifications

• High School Diploma or USA equivalency required.
• Associate degree or 48 college credit hours or pass an academic assessment.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate is required.
• Six months of knowledge/skills from work experience or training is preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of child growth and behavior is desirable.
• Non-instructional support tasks for certified staff are expected.
• Ability to help achieve program objectives with students.
• Flexibility to manage changes and stay current with developments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned area.
• Relieve teacher of non-instructional duties and manage arrivals/departures.
• Provide support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom order in various settings.
• Help teachers prepare reports and organize materials for distribution.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
