Job summary

ServingSchools in Maine is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (K–6) with a focus on SEL and behavior support to join our team for Fall 2026-2027.

You will provide individualized instruction, develop and monitor IEPs, collaborate with BCBA and staff, use trauma-informed practices and SEL strategies, and help create a safe, supportive classroom environment in a small, structured setting. Closing date: Until a suitable candidate is found.

Qualifications

• Provide individualized instruction and implement evidence-based interventions for students with social, emotional and behavioral needs.
• Serve as the special education case manager duties including IEP development, implementation, collect and analyze student data to inform instructional and behavioral decision-making.

• Create and maintain a safe, positive and supportive classroom environment.
• Utilize trauma-informed instructional practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support students.
• Provide coaching, guidance and ongoing training to educational technicians to ensure consistent implementation of instructional and behavioral supports.
• Work collaboratively with BCBA, general education teachers, related service providers, administrators and families to support student achievement across settings.
