Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, and procedures into daily operations.
• Knowledge of North Carolina Standard Course of Study and district curriculum framework.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain accurate records (IEPs and 504 plans).
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress and engage them in the process.
• Prepare materials and classroom for activities and provide diverse learning resources.
• Attend PLCs and staff meetings for data analysis and planning.
