Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an elementary classroom teacher to join our CMS team starting immediately for an end-of-year position. The role involves planning, delivering instruction, assessing students, and maintaining documentation for IEPs and 504 plans.

The ideal candidate holds a valid NC Teaching certification or eligibility, with a Bachelor's degree, and demonstrates strong classroom management, instructional planning, and collaboration with staff, parents, and administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of North Carolina standards and testing expectations.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Create a classroom environment that provides student engagement and helps students achieve learning objectives.
• Prepare for classes, maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans, and communicate with parents/guardians.
