Job summary

River Oaks Academy in Charlotte, NC is seeking an elementary school teacher to work under moderate supervision, develop lesson plans, supervise and evaluate students, and implement school policies with guidance from the principal. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets student needs.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Provide instruction for all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for activities and assessments.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress and concerns.
• Attend PLCs and staff meetings for data analysis and planning.
