Job summary

Fitzgerald Public Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to support students across two elementary campuses in a split assignment (60% Mound Park Upper Elementary, 40% Westview Elementary) for the 2026-2027 school year.

You will assess, plan, implement, and monitor individualized therapy, collaborate with teachers and families, maintain records, and participate in MTSS processes to help students meet communication goals.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Valid Michigan SLP licence and CCC from ASHA or CFY in progress.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Experience servicing children with speech and language impairments.
  • Ability to bill for services through county Medicaid.
  • Familiarity with MTSS models and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements individualized therapy plans for students.
  • Observes, describes, and refers suspected speech-language impairments.
  • Provides screening and ongoing therapy to meet student needs.
  • Collaborates with teachers and staff to implement therapy in daily activities.
  • Maintains records and writes evaluations and progress notes.
  • Participates in MET/IEPT meetings and MTSS processes.
  • Provides information and training to families on speech goals and services.
  • Assumes responsibilities for equipment and supplies related to services.
