Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks a Special Education Instructional Assistant for K-5 to support students in general and special education classrooms onsite in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves academic support, behavior strategies, and collaboration with certified teachers.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or higher, with associate degrees preferred, and experience in special education. Educational Aide certification I–III is a plus; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or higher; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in special education is required or preferred.
• Educational Aide certification I, II, or III preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports students in small groups or 1:1.
• Assist students with assignments, homework, projects.
• Adapt materials and provide modifications to help students learn.
• Reinforce classroom rules and SDI concepts; support behavior management.
• Attend meetings and provide general clerical support for ESS Team.
