Job summary

Monroe School District Maltby Elementary in Snohomish, WA, seeks a K-5 Multilingual Language Learner (MLL) teacher. This 0.1 FTE position supports eligible ELL students, aligns with SIOP and ELP standards, and partners with general education staff to implement MLL/ELL instruction.

Start date is upon hire, with 180 days per year and 0.1 FTE compensation. The role involves identifying eligible students, monitoring progress, advocating for families, and providing reading and math interventions for

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate for the State of Washington with required endorsement
• Possess a K-8 endorsement and an ESL and/or Bilingual endorsement
• Experience teaching elementary MLL/ELL or recent training and/or knowledge regarding English language acquisition, MLL/ELL curriculum and instruction
• Experience with Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) components
• Training or experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families
• Preferential consideration given to those fluent in Spanish
• Prior experience in the school setting preferred
• Such other qualifications as the Board and Superintendent may find appropriate
• Current valid CPR and First Aid may be required for the specific assignment
• Experience providing small group intervention in reading, reading readiness and math
• Training or experience with the Washington State K-12 Reading Model, including the five essential components of reading
