Job summary

Henry County Public Schools is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator for K–5 Mathematics in Martinsville, VA. This full-time role focuses on strengthening math instruction across Title I elementary schools, modeling effective teaching, and facilitating professional learning.

The coordinator will differentiate instruction, analyze student data to guide decisions, and collaborate with teachers to design engaging, conceptually focused math lessons that build reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university required. Master’s Degree with specialization in Administration & Supervision or Curriculum & Instruction preferred.
• Five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience in mathematics, demonstrating student achievement and growth as determined by the district balanced assessment model.
• Extensive knowledge of Henry County instructional initiatives, conditions of learning, and assessment driven instruction.
• Must have or be eligible to receive a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in elementary education.

Responsibilities

• Supports the mission and vision of Henry County Public Schools.
• Organizes and promotes high-quality K–5 mathematics instruction fostering conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and reasoning.
• Develops and evaluates K–5 mathematics curriculum aligned to standards.
• Serves as liaison between Curriculum and Instruction and schools to implement standards-aligned math curriculum.
• Assesses school needs and determines steps to strengthen math instruction and achievement.
