Job summary

The Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking a dedicated Math Coach to lead K-5 mathematics improvement across schools. The role focuses on coaching, modeling best practices, and using data to guide instruction to raise student achievement in mathematics.

The position requires Alabama certification in ECE/elementary/special education, substantial teaching experience, and a master's degree or approved professional development. Endorsement within 2 years is expected.

Qualifications

Holds a valid Alabama professional educator certificate in early childhood education, elementary education, or special education.
Minimum five years of experience as an early childhood, elementary, or special education teacher.
Demonstrated mathematics instruction expertise, including intervention and dyscalculia interventions.
Holds a master's degree or completed recommended professional development.
Within 2 years, must obtain a K-5 mathematics coach endorsement.

Responsibilities

Support instruction with emphasis on Tier 1 to prevent gaps.
Collaborate with principal and faculty to plan coaching and math instruction improvements.
Lead schoolwide math professional learning and modeling of evidence-based strategies.
Mentor and coach teachers continuously.
Use data to differentiate math instruction and identify dyscalculia signals.
Monitor progress of K-5 students with formative assessments and adjust instruction.
