Job summary

Family Life Academy Charter Schools in the South Bronx invites applications for a Classroom Teacher (Grades K-5). You will plan engaging, standards-based lessons, foster a culture of excellence, and collaborate with colleagues to support diverse learners.

You will assess progress, differentiate instruction, and communicate with families through portals and meetings. A NYS teaching certification and a Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• New York State Certification in Childhood Education 1-6 and/or Early Childhood Education Birth-2.
• Dual certification in ESOL or Students with Disabilities is a plus.
• Clearance for fingerprint and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Creates academically rigorous, standards-based lesson plans and fosters a culture of excellence.
• Differentiates instruction to meet diverse learning needs including ELL and SPED.
• Collaborates with Special Education and ESOL teachers to support students.
• Assesses student progress and provides actionable feedback.
• Maintains strong classroom management and communicates with families.
• Participates in professional development and PLCs.
• Contributes to school-wide processes and supports a positive school environment.
