Job summary

Southern Avenue Charter Elementary School is seeking a K–5 Certified Educator to deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction for elementary students in Memphis. You will differentiate instruction, analyze data to inform planning, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student growth.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, implementing RTI/MTSS processes as needed, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certification for Elementary Education (K–5)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary instructional best practices
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned to state standards and school curriculum.
• Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
• Utilize data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction.
• Integrate technology and instructional strategies to enhance student learning.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in a timely manner.
• Establish a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote positive student behavior and character development.
• Administer formative and summative assessments and analyze data to inform instruction.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom updates.
• Collaborate with support staff, administrators and colleagues to support student achievement.
