Job summary

North Central Education Service District is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Behavior Classroom to support students in grades K-5. The role assists licensed staff with IEPs, behavior support plans, and instructional interventions, while providing direct student support and data collection.

You will work under licensed staff to promote safe learning environments, implement de-escalation techniques, and collaborate with instructional teams. Immediate start is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 72 quarter hours of accredited college or equivalent education or Work Keys in Math, Reading, and Business Writing.
• Preferred Safety-Care, CPI, or comparable behavioral intervention training.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience implementing positive behavior support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff with IEPs, behavior support plans, and related interventions.
• Provide individual and small-group support to reinforce academic, behavioral, social-emotional goals.
• Assist students in developing social skills and self-regulation strategies.
• Reinforce instruction through guided practice and targeted interventions.
• Implement approved behavior support strategies and crisis-prevention practices.
