Job summary

Neighborhood Learning Alliance is seeking a K-5 Afterschool Staff Floater to support the afterschool program across multiple site locations. The role is part-time and in-person, with hours varying by site and a requirement to commute between sites.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping students succeed in Reading and STEM while maintaining a safe, organized learning space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some college experience preferred.
• Experience in education, social work, public service, health careers, nonprofits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate professional responsibilities and commitment to community service.
• Comfortable using technology (computers, iPad, tablets, projector).
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Comfortable communicating with elementary students and families.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Uphold mission and core values of the Organization.
• Implement the After School model.
• Develop students’ skills in Reading and STEM.
• Assist with daily programming planning and implementation.
• Assist with daily procedures and program structures.
• Manage student attendance and activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space.
• Develop and support children’s academic and social-emotional needs.
• Attend team meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed; able to lift up to 40 lbs.
