Job summary

The Neighborhood Learning Alliance Afterschool Program is seeking a part-time K-5 Afterschool Staff Floater to support academics, arts, STEM, and community building across multiple PPS sites. Staff will help lead enrichment activities, model the program’s core values, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students after school.

Responsibilities include implementing the after-school model, coordinating with site teams, and assisting with daily programming while accommodating varying site

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Some college experience preferred.
• Experience in education, social work, public service, health careers, nonprofits.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate professional responsibilities.
• Passion for serving the community and student success.
• Basic tech knowledge (computers, iPad, tablets, projector).
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Comfortable communicating with elementary school students and families.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the mission and core values of the Organization are put into practice.
• Implement the After School model.
• Develop students’ skills and interest in Reading and STEM.
• Assist with the overall planning and implementation of the daily programming and activities.
• Assist with daily procedures and program structures.
• Manage student attendance and activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space.
• Develop and support children’s academic and social-emotional needs.
• Attend team meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties assigned for which the employee is qualified and physically able to perform. Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
